The Mission

A Hand Up, Not A Handout

Mom's House of Phoenixville provides a unique family support system — including free, state-licensed childcare — for low-income, single parents while they pursue their full-time education and become independent members of society.

Here's the problem they solve: childcare is the single biggest obstacle standing between a young parent and a classroom. If you can't afford care, you can't go to school. If you can't finish school, you can't build a career. Mom's House breaks that cycle.

They care for children from 3 months to age 5 — nutritious meals, clothing, diapers, and essentials included — and prepare toddlers for preschool, while their parents attend high school, GED programs, technical school, or college.

It's not free-for-nothing

Mom's House parents hold up their end of the deal:

  • Attend school full time — and keep their grades passing
  • Volunteer two hours each week at Mom's House
  • Attend monthly parenting workshops

That's the whole spirit of the place: accountability and support, pointed at independence. It works — their graduates go on to degrees, careers, and homes of their own.

Where Your Bids Go

Mom's House receives no federal or state funding. Every diaper, every meal, every teacher is paid for by donors and community groups — people like the crowd at the Good Vibes Grand Prix.

100% of the net proceeds from race day go directly to Mom's House. When you bid on a racer, you're keeping a parent in school and a kid cared for.

Visit & Support Them Directly

Mom's House recently moved to a bigger home — First United Methodist Church, 865 S. Main St, Phoenixville — so they can take in more families.
